The Outer Vibe creates music in a secret labratory in Grand Rapids, Michigan – deep dark in some strange castle on a hill. When they are not touring and filling up 900+ capacity venues, they are working hard producing ear candy. *insert lightning and thunder clap here*
Ok, so uh maybe they don’t really work in a secret laboratory. Maybe they don’t own a strange castle on a hill, but we would like to think so.
Immediately when you start to listen to The Outer Vibe, you are thrust head first into a mad scientist aquapod transducer, and your body is sent into various bits of anti-matter, which tries desperately to cling to a genre linking comparison. The style is so unique, that one almost receives a clean, refreshing, and almost surreal blend of sound. It stays crunchy in milk, and is packed with vitiman C.
“Monster EP,” is the most recent creation from The Outer Vibe’s lab – which was struck by one hundred thousand millivolts, and delivered to the masses via various outlets including iTunes. The song “We’ve Created A Monster” provides ME (Jake Wheat) with obvious political undertones, which wreck into the past eight years – or – speaks about my love life, either way. The song is catchy, the instrumentation is devine, and frankly – I am inspired when it flows out of my iPod.
My favorite song on the “Monster EP”? “Your Girlfriend’s A Witch,” because everyone knows she is.

Quentin Elias is an International artist, who is multi-talented. He sings, acts, does modeling – there isn’t much that he doesn’t do to be honest. We first caught this hunky musician while surfing iTunes for good music – and became a fan ever since. Now, Quentin has signed on to Electro Boy Inc Records, and has released a new single covering “Shattered Dreams,” the pop-synth 80’s hit by Johnny Hates Jazz.
According to his blog, Quentin is still hard at work on his upcoming album “Love Confusion,” and will be releasing remixes to some of his older tracks soon! We can’t wait, Quentin has a great heart – and we are certainly fans.

Renegade Ride is a unique band from Helsinki, Uusimaa Finland. Don’t ask me how to get there, because I failed geography and if I plug that into Google maps to get directions, it tells me it is unable to calculate them. Of course, you can just stare at the map to get an idea of where that is.
I personally think that their sound, at first, is an acquired taste. Much like listening to anything new – and trying to produce a label or familiarity. It is a blend of Dave Matthews/Queens of the Stone Age…. in a modern twist rock and roll kinda fashion. I dunno, that may not be it either. Of the two tracks I reviewed “Crusader” and “Break Me To Pieces” – I had an obvious favorite. I enjoyed “Crusader,” but I found myself more drawn to the vocal style matches to the feel of the song “Break Me To Pieces.” Jaakko Latva-Pukkila (vocalist) has a really REALLY unique voice that hits a a higher range, which brings out textures in their modern rock blend that give it more soul and emotion. The rest of the band can really throw down on some instruments – so I it’s a healthy blend, one which made it onto my iPod. That says a lot.
Their album “Dream Machine” is available on CDBaby.com and iTunes and we suggest picking up a copy. You can also learn more about the band by checking out their MySpace.
It’s a damn shame that a huge ocean is in my way, otherwise I would be front and center checking out a show.
